Information for

Parents and Family

Originally known as Daughters of the Lions, DOL was first established as a little sister organization to Alpha Epsilon Pi. In 1996, the group flourished into its own organization, Delta Omicron Lambda. In 2021, we became an official Greek Sorority!

DOL members promote women’s issues and unity among S&T students through community involvement and service.

What are the benefits of joining DOL?

DOL offers each member endless opportunities to grow as a person, become more confident, and learn life skills that will prove invaluable throughout their lifetime.

  1. Leadership Opportunities - DOL provides many ways for one to grow as a leader through chapter  officer and chairperson roles as well as overall skill development.

  2. Campus Involvement - DOL encourages members to be an active member on campus and to get involved in other organizations.

  3. Professional Development – DOL guides members in navigating career fairs, building professional skills, and preparing for life after college through mentorship, guidance, and real-world insight.

  4. Alumnae Networking – DOL connects members with a strong alumnae board, offering valuable networking opportunities, mentorship, and insight into the workplace and life after college.

  5. Community Engagement – DOL encourages members to give back by spending time serving the local community, promoting personal growth, social responsibility, and a deeper sense of purpose beyond campus.

BECOMING A NEW MEMBER

New Members are expected to get fifteen "sisterhood points" to become active. These have to be completed by attending sisterhood events, socials with other organizations, and  competing or spectating intramural games to support our sisters!

New Members are expected to get fifteen service hours to become active. These have to be completed by serving our local philanthropy, Russell House, attending a community cleanup hosted by our service chairperson, and performing general service in the S&T and Rolla community by doing things such as giving blood or supporting other organizations' philanthropic events.

All members pay dues. Currently, our dues are under $200 per semester! This cost is mostly to cover insurance to attend any Greek events that may be hosted on campus, but it also covers all DOL hosted events' budgets and supplies. Since we do not have a house and do not have a national chapter, we are able to keep our dues low while still having fun with our sisters!

Parents, we would love to hear your questions!

"I joined DOL because I wanted to have a community in Rolla. I'm the only person from my high school at S&T, and I wanted to make some meaningful friendships to support me while I'm six hours away from home. DOL supports me academically, professionally, socially, AND in my other organizations. Through DOL, I've made lifelong friends, memories I play on repeat, and feel confident as a woman at S&T. DOL is one of the best decisions I've made <3"

- Haley Garrison

"What drew me to DOL was the immediate feeling of being welcomed and valued. They provide the space for me to be my authentic self while providing the push I need to reach my full potential. I am incredibly grateful to be part of a sisterhood of strong-minded women who advocate for one another’s success."
